The club encourages
anyone who is interested in breeding the off colored
Yorkshire Terriers, to become a member and to get actively
involved in promoting the off colored Yorkshire Terriers.
The club discourages the breeding of any stock that has
known health issues or genetic faults. We do not see color
as being a fault.

CYTC
CODE OF ETHICS
As a member of the
Colorful Yorkshire Terrier Club, I believe that I should
strive to meet the highest standards of breeding.
I believe in the code of ethics that have been set
forth by the club founders and will run my breeding program
to promote the integrity of the club by producing high
quality Yorkshire Terriers.
Although each individual
breeder is confronted with a unique set of circumstances, we
believe that each member should strive to reach the highest
ethical standards of breeding.
The code, as set forth by the club founders, is
designed to be used as a guide to reach those standards.
- A member shall put
health as their first concern.
No dog should be bred if it is a carrier of any
genetic disorders. A breeder shall strive
to meet the standards of the Yorkshire Terrier accepted by
the AKC, in all areas with the exception of color. Allowing any
color that comes naturally from the mating of any two AKC
registered Yorkshire Terriers.
- Records should be
kept in accordance with the rules of the AKC.
- Be respectful to
other breeders, and helpful to those seeking information
about the Yorkshire Terrier breed and the variety of
colors.
- You are encouraged to
screen all potential breeding dogs, studs and bitches, for
infectious and hereditary diseases, prior to
breeding.
- When selling puppies,
disclose any and all defects to potential buyers, and
state them in writing, and provide written health
contracts to all buyers
6
Use professional courtesy when discussing
other members.
7.
Advertising should be professional.
Avoid using marketing terms that can be misleading to
uninformed buyers, thereby discrediting the Colorful
Yorkshire Terrier Club.
